Losing your SBI ATM or debit card can be worrying. If your card is lost or stolen, it is very important to block it immediately to stop unauthorized use. This guide explains simple and fast ways to block your SBI ATM card.
1. Call SBI Customer Care
You can block your ATM card by calling SBI’s toll-free customer care numbers from your registered mobile number:
- 1800 1234
- 1800 2100
- 1800 11 2211
- 1800 425 3800
Steps:
- Call one of the above numbers.
- Choose your preferred language.
- Select the option to block your ATM card.
- Enter the last 4 digits of your card or account number.
- Confirm your request.
You will receive an SMS confirming your card is blocked.
2. Block Your SBI Card via SMS
From your registered mobile number, send the following SMS:
BLOCK <last 4 digits of your ATM card>
Send this SMS to 567676.
Example: BLOCK 1234
You will get a confirmation SMS once your card is blocked.
3. Block Through SBI Internet Banking
If you have SBI Internet Banking access, follow these steps:
- Log in to SBI Internet Banking.
- Go to e-Services > ATM Card Services > Block ATM Card.
- Select your account and the card to block.
- Choose the reason: Lost or Stolen.
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile or use your profile password.
- Confirm the block request.
You will see a confirmation once the card is blocked.
4. Use the SBI YONO Mobile App
Block your card instantly using the SBI YONO app:
- Open the SBI YONO app and log in.
- Go to Service Request > ATM/Debit Card > Block Card.
- Select the card and the reason for blocking.
- Enter the OTP sent to your mobile.
- Confirm your request.
5. Visit the Nearest SBI Branch
If you cannot use the phone or internet methods, visit your nearest SBI branch. Inform the staff about your lost or stolen card and show a valid ID. They will help block your card immediately.
Requesting a New SBI ATM Card
After blocking your card, you can request a new card via:
- SBI YONO app
- SBI Internet Banking
- Visit your SBI branch
